Edge

at the marathon a person held a box of tropicana orange juice casually in their hand a Box! I wrote
gobsmacked at the poetry reading with the straw push hole! but it was casual like a normal thing
to have there was no straw I was seated in a way that was confusing but I did my best to explain
it via text and managed to garnish a gymnastics of bubbles a person asked the audience to sh-
out one through 3 and my first thought was two but if I had said a word I would have said 3
because I don’t trust my first instincts to shoulder a number when I returned my focus to
the tropicana juice box I noted the box’s holder’s backpack bore a marble pattern like
the notebooks which reshaped the context of the juice it was all now as if they were
purposefully mired within the time of the box of juice common and I lost interest
in the novelty of nostalgia I moved my body of attention back to my phone the
boxes in there were complicated and I tapped among the throng their contents
pushing holes between the substance to open up a bowl for a new thing alto-
gether when my soup showed up at dinner it was difficult to eat and we bit
chunks and peeled slivers of bone out of our teeth piling them bubbling
on the edge of the plates seated structurally beneath our bowls and I
tried my best to talk eat pick bone pile neatly but the things fell in
cracks which of course I had wanted to host the hug goodbye felt
different nostalgia there was less of the novel so I walked some
where different I held my hands so casual in case a new thing
should show up and it did I caught the situation my friend
was describing and then I described it back we inscribed
our experience within a Box! and we felt happy I could
tell via text because we both felt the same bad thing
one time which meant we were not bad we were
only the way we both are which is wrong at
some times but usually redemptive we
were seated in a way that required a-
ttunement to the other’s body and I
turned although it was confusing
we shaped it compilation and on
the text we saw our shapes held
blue and grey it made a very
sort of old type of sense it
made me feel a bit like I
was old I held the feel
ing casual I let go
because I don’t
really need
to feel it
again

all writing is ordering
or disordering experience
I have a practice of making
self-centered art
there is a sadness to the normalcy
of rivers, it’s conundrum

if you want to stoke some pressure
go and help a guy get earrings
one hole poked thru cartilage
splayed on the horse like jesus
well it’s good to leave a mark
an unripe date wrinkling

she found herself amidst
a concert non-consensually
screaming into noise cancelling
technology, the woman repeated
what we need, in this city,
are hyperbaric chambers

it is fun to be a bit victorian
you may hear a crunch
but it’s not your ear
you want delayed permanence: this tracks for me
you can’t totally argue
with a tub of free greek yogurt

I dreamed an ad campaign
that starred serena williams
a spinal doctor said
“she does all this…
and stands up straight!”
intoned voiceover sales pitch

accidental engagement
in reply guy behavior
dazzled by the realtree patina
of college trucker cap
starbucks iced chai cherry: i need it
I’m going over 20

in the citibike lane
he’s waiting, he explained,
for critical masc
tweaking off the yerba
bitter yellow is the color
summer calves banana coated

at the conference they swore
there’s just so much to learn!
whole call enamored
by my acronym of “whirrrr”:
how’s that for job security
many things are in motion

I’m obsessed with sludge
the frogs go in the sandpit
the pit goes in the garbage
it’s not my business what goes in
the trash incinerator
I flipped a switch and something gargled

goblins are hypebeasts
wizards are trad
elves are pick me
gremlins skate
ghouls are good at finding holes
and fairies fuck it’s obvious

I’m not a nerd I only play one
I’m not a player I like to watch
linguistic twist of abnegation
lying in the google doc
aperol in the miller, pernod in the bud
light lime in the cigarette

it’s green flavor, she promised:
it’s healthy
one a day keeps the dogma out
I eat maldon salt like pop rocks
I eat vitamins like dirt
I believe in miracles, it’s logical

I don’t know how frogs do anything
logging my time on instagram
clock in log out then back to work
I’m on a payment plan re: text backs
you guys get mad but credit’s good
I’m better when I’m honest

career is what you post of it
my brother is a future doctor
while I’m a future nothing
I live an expert life online
I love the world, its wet parts
I do live in the real world, I recaptcha

I can’t tell cars apart
by anything but color
I’m going to the gym to suffer
cross my arms hope for the worst
linkedin in the jargon
avocado caked under gel nails peeled

I don’t like anyone that fits the prereqs
that I’d need to buy a house
I watched carrie getting carried
through the door by aged aiden,
felt unmoved, if they had anyone
but AI writing, she would fuck the gardener

justice for eros
I’m putting salt and pepper
on my nectarine slice dry
contemplating date logistics
like how soon’s too soon
to ask to bring your laptop

I’m going on and on and on
six lines a room keeps the apathy
at bay like going to the beach
I ordered some things actually
a mass of things off kilter
now they’re squared do you agree

last night aubrey plaza made a presence
at the dive bar called the dive
in the plaza called the plaza
I will bid you an aubade
pls my place it’s all unkempt
well. something must stay out
                                                           of order
